Happy Birthday Janet!!!! It's been a long time since we lived on the same street in Aloha!!!! Hope you are doing well and keeping away from that awful Covid-19. I'm still in Corvallis doing what they say we are supposed to be doing! Have a great day. Maggie

This is a picture that shows what I did lots in the 1980s... I traveled with Topo (a computer robot who understood the Logo language). Topo and I did workshops with elementary and middle school kids as well as lots of teachers who were trying to become familiar with this new computer language. It was a fun job while I was also a faculty member in the College of Education at Oregon State University. My primary job was to help teacher develop the knowledge for teaching with technologies.
I know what you mean about our class - course we were seniors basically for 3 years once we moved to Sunset - we got to start all the traditions! I remember chairing the Girl of the Month identifications. I think that gave me great lessons for when I was Faculty Senate President at OSU! I know what you mean about getting together with the kids. With 5 it is sometimes difficult. But we have a secret weapon. I promise not to cook and Dave promises to do all the cooking. That brings those kids right on home! Another trick has been getting them tickets to the OSU football games and a tailgater that they really enjoy. We just warn them that we are spending their inheritance by doing all these things - We even took them all with their families (at different times) to Cabo. Last year we finally got that last crew in - The youngest, her husband and three girls. What a treat it was for us - and they got to fly in a plane! there goes that inheritance! And, the best part is they all love it this way.
It would be great to get together. You're right -we don't live that far apart - and now that the road is finished (I think) it will be easier. Now to find that illusive time. I keep promising George Stankey that I'll get over there! He and I grew up on the same street in Aloha!
We can connect by email if that is easier... I"m at niessm@comcast.net
I posted a picture that Margie Boris just send me.. these are all Aloha girls and about half of us went to Sunset and other half went to Beaverton. I'm the one who didn't get the message on what color dress to wear! Actually I think it was the only dress I had for more than a year. My daughters really enjoyed seeing this picture!
